BRAID's Consolidated Vision of ICT and Ageing, has been released. This vision was developed applying a systematic approach, consolidating the visions from four feeder projects of BRAID, and creating one holistic vision of ICT & ageing in European society. It constitutes a major input into the BRAID roadmap development, which addresses the implementation of the BRAID’s planned aims.
The third BRAID Workshop will be held on 16th and 17th of June 2011 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The BRAID project seeks to harness this potential through the holding of European stakeholder workshops which work to inform a comprehensive Vision and RTD Roadmap for active ageing. The 3rd BRAID Workshop will take an extended look into the future of active ageing and ageing well by listening to, and engaging in dialogue with people who offer knowledge, expertise, and insight into the experience of ageing today.
BRAID is holding a series of workshops during 2011. The purpose of these workshops is discussion of important elements of the BRAID project, including the Stakeholder Coordination Mechanisms, the Vision, and proposed actions for the Roadmap, with key stakeholder groups.
The first two workshops have been held in February (Barcelona) and April (Pordenone) with very positive feedback from the participants.
The dates and locations for the remaining workshops are as follows:
June 16th-17th - Copenhagen
Sept 29th-30th – Dublin
The elaboration of a strategic research agenda for ICT and Ageing is a fundamental instrument for the consistent development of the area. Given the wide scope and complexity of the involved issues, which are of a multi-disciplinary nature, it is convenient to focus on a number of complementary perspectives of analysis. Thus BRAID considers four perspectives or life settings, namely “Independent Living”, “Healthy Living”, “Occupation in Life”, and “Recreation in Life”, which are followed along the various phases of the roadmapping process.
The second BRAID Workshop will be held on 7th and 8th of April 2011 in Pordenone, Italy.
This workshop will engage with members of relevant stakeholder groups in order to obtain their opinions and insights on how best to address the pertinent issues. The workshop will therefore benefit from the input of a number of experts who will speak on topics related to their areas of expertise in order to generate discussion and collaboration amongst stakeholders. This will provide a backdrop for the interactive activities focusing on the vision for BRAID and the contents of the final roadmap being created.
Brussels, 4 March 2010
Following on the joint ICT Networking Session organized by BRAID (http://braidproject.org/), universAAL (http://universaal.org/) and OASIS (http://www.oasis-project.eu/) during the ICT Conference in Brussels (http://ec.europa.eu/information_society/events/cf/ict2010/item-display.c...), the BRAID consortium has confirmed a decision to join the AALOA community. AALOA is already supported by universAAL and OASIS projects, and BRAID expects to undertake a number of initiatives within AALOA to share and encourage discussion of its early results within the AALOA community, enhancing the dissemination impacts of each.
The Workshop is the first of five being held in a number of locations around Europe as part of the BRAID project.
The project consortium recognise and value the need to engage with members of relevant stakeholder groups in order to obtain their opinions on the best mechanisms to use. The workshop will focus on discussing the proposed stakeholder coordination and stakeholder mechanisms (one of the project deliverables) as well as the vision for and contents of the final roadmap in order to obtain valuable input from people with interest and expertise in the field.
