The ageing society is creating critical issues concerning the topics of ICT and e‐inclusion. Recent investments to research on a number of projects in this field has helped highlight the importance of this topic, however more work is needed in order to build on this initial progress. Bridging Research in Ageing and ICT Development (BRAID) is an EU FP7 Support Action spanning 24 months (start date 1st March 2010) which will develop a comprehensive RTD roadmap for active ageing by consolidating existing roadmaps and by describing and launching a stakeholder co‐ordination and consultation mechanism. It will characterise key research challenges and produce a vision for a comprehensive approach in supporting the well‐being and socio‐economic integration of increasing numbers of senior citizens in Europe.
As part of this we have convened an advisory board of experts for engaging in critical stakeholder dialogue. This panel of experts will use their interest and expertise in issues relating to
ICT and ageing to;
- Provide comment and feedback on some of the BRAID deliverables
- Provide expert advice on optimizing the stakeholder coordination mechanism and consolidated Roadmap
- Attend a Workshop to further explore the themes of the project.
